Replaced Flexplate a Few Months Ago. Hearing Flexplate Noise and Popping Sound.
A few months ago my original flexplate began making the infamous squealing noise. Usually only at lower speeds. I had a shop I trust replace it, since it's kind of a PITA. Anyway last week my car began making the flexplate noise again. Also when driving sometimes at low speeds (typically 20-40 mph) I hear this popping sound coming from under the car. It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the engine. Could this also be from the flex plate? The noise sounds kind of like when your drive over a basketball and it pops rather than a misfire.

Is the sound affected by what gear you are in at those speeds (20-40) ?

What lines along are you thinking of regarding gears?

I'd check on things rattling under there. Exhaust pipes, heat shields, etc...
I was starting to isolate which end of the car. Engine and trans are dependent on gear/rpm. Drivershaft, axle, etc are only road speed.
