Truck tbi ac bracket

Has anyone used a truck tbi ac bracket on a third gen? Looking to use one with a tbi setup in my third gen Camaro, will it clear the hood? It looks like the bracket is going to need spacers to line up with the third gen accessories. Any help appreciated, thanks.

I searched and this discussion was all that I came across:

Found another thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...0-bracket.html

Here is a picture from there by evilstuie. I don't know how well that Stealth Ram or whatever clears a Camaro hood, but the top of the ac compressor looks to be below it. I'm doing the tbi thing, so I'm not going to be trying to grab air from that location.

Here are stock 1992 truck pictures from the link in post 2 by 83 Crossfire TA, some 17 years ago:

I also need to figure out what I'm going to do as far as bracing the accessory brackets to the intake manifold, since the engine I'm working on is a Vortec.

Re: Truck tbi ac bracket

I've been looking at doing this to my 87 Camaro tpi. The problem is that the tensioner would block the air intake tube. On the 3rd gen setup it is farther towards the passenger valve cover.

Re: Truck tbi ac bracket

Yes you are correct, it's definitely offset towards the passenger side. I have the fbody one on my parts 92 Camaro, and the California on there is bad, and this truck one looks factree. I wonder how much trouble I'll have when I go to hook up the ac lines... But that's for later on, this truck bracket came with an ac delete pulley from the junkyard so I'm going to do the right thing and use that for now... until it's permanent. I want to keep that stock third gen bracket nice, the buy it now guys on evilbay are trading them for bars of gold.

Re: Truck tbi ac bracket

Does anyone happen to know what the exact offset difference is between third gen v8 serpentine pulleys and tbi truck serpentine pulleys? The truck setup brings the belt in closer to the front of the engine, it looks like more than 1/4" but I am having a hard time getting a good measurement with only the truck a/c stuff to go off of.
