Hey guys I’m trying to replace the fuel sending unit on my 1987 iroc 5.7 tpi the harness code is ped I can’t find it anywhere does anyone know if a different harness plug works for the module it plugs into

Not sure about "harness code". Never heard of such an idea.
PED stands for "Packard Electrical Division". Their initials are on pretty much EVERY electrical connector in your car.

Tank plugs are kinda' specific.

The 2-wire Carb sending unit plug in the background is tagged "FAA" while the 3-wire yellow sending unit plug (TBI ?) in the front is tagged "FEG". If you look at the plastic terminal 'shield' around the middle terminal you will see that it's "keyed" with a slot on top. ( the 'shield' on the left is also "keyed" with a slot on bottom). It's very likely that - even though it's a 3 wire plug - it will not connect directly to all 3-wire connectors because the 'KEY" will not match.
I'm GUESSING that the code probably describes the sending unit, plug itself, and it's "key" / slotting.
I just looked at another 5 3-wire sending unit plugs (not pictured) and 4 of them have the same slotting as described above ( codes were FPG, FPK, & FEM ); 1 of them has a slot on the top of the left and a slot at the top of the right 'shield'; no code tag on that one. (GUESSING it was from a crossfire )

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have it in yellow.
Although I don't think the electrons are too likely to care. I'd probably go with the green I guess.
