Running CC carb on engine stand
Hi all,
I’m attempting to make a cc carb play nice with a decently built 350.
I have a spare ecm harness and I’m thinking it might be easier to tune the engine on a stand (engine is already out of the car for another repair).
That being said, anyone know what it would take to run the setup on a stand? It seems like the computer would just need battery voltage, a dedicated ground and the necessary sensors.

Re: Running CC carb on engine stand
You are overthinking this. The best you are going to do running the engine on a stand is to use a known good non-computer controlled carb and run the engine that way. You will be able to check for leaks and adjust your valvetrain, and do the camshaft break-in (if HFT) much easier than in the car. You can't put the engine under a load on a stand, and as an example - coolant temp, how are you going to make a pressurized system work?
