Key stuck in lock
Key stuck in lock
So, i bought this 85 camaro (350 carb'd swapped) in february and recently put a hurst automatic shifter in. I can't remember if it had this problem before as I didn't drive it due to the minnesota winters but I dont think it did. The park lock cable isn't hooked up, the car is in park, and the key won't turn from lock. I sometimes can get it to go but this morning it took me a solid 15 minutes before I gave up and drove my truck. Does this have something to do with the park lock cable? Or worn down? What will break if i force it?
Re: Key stuck in lock
The floor shift cable needs to retreact to allow the ignition lock cylinder to return fully to the lock position. That's the only position where the key can be removed. It may be necessary to somehow restrain the cable if it cannot be connected to the shifter linkage.
