Car: 1988 GTA Trans am 1 owner since new
Engine: 383 built
Transmission: 1995 camaro t56 6 speed
Axle/Gears: 3.24 posi 9 bolt
Who makes the best aftermarket sending unit

Hi I have a 88 gta tpi

rock auto lists 5 fuel pump sending unit
cheapest to most exp
I need a new one I was just wondering who makes the best one
not the fuel pump just the sending unit
I just want the one that lasts the longest

Axle/Gears: Borg Warner 9 bolt 3.27

OER now makes a Delco service replacement available on classic industries. Price is pretty good too. I don’t have personal experience with OER but it’s an option. I also think Hawks sells refurbished factory units at like $300, I can’t remember for sure.

how long do they last
I mean my factory gauge is still working since 88

Really depends on the condition of the inside of the tank. If it’s in good shape they can last quite awhile but if the car sits for a long time with ethanol gas in it they can get nasty and fail. Also if the lines at the top are rusted/corroded then replace. I believe most shops will replace sending unit when they do the pump if that means anything. On these cars with the labor to drop the tank I would do that as well.
