This question is about my Mom's truck. The steering column is loose at the tilt mechanism. It feels exactly the way my camaro did when I had that problem. Externally, the column looks the same as my camaro's. Is it the same internally, and can I fix it the same way? Are there any differences that might make this not doable?

There should be no SIR, so it's essentially the same as your 'F' car column on the upper bowl end.

Remove the wheel, lock plate, turn signal switch, lock cylinder, linkages, bearings, and expose the universal joint in the tilt joint. Remove and clean the four Torx bolts, apply some LocTite 262, and torque them to 150-180 in/lb. Reassemble and drive off.
