Modifing fuel sender on 87 base to eliminate pump

Good morning all,

I installed the Holley sniper efi on my 305 about two years ago and it runs great. However when I installed the new sender with the eg\fi pump, I somehow mixed up the wires and my gas gauge does no work. I plan on dropping the tank and removing the in tank pump and install an in line pump and new fuel sensor. I need to install an extension to the fuel suction line and install a filter pickup. I did come across a photo of someone on this site that did just that and his mod was very neat. I searched and could not find his/her post again. When I eliminate the in tank pump i need an extension and filter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Louis

You can do something like this

If you are running an external pump you might want to consider putting in a new pump in the tank while it is apart

Thanks, this is what I am looking for. He mentions that the line is brazed to the filter. Not sure how he did it without burning the filter.
How can I fasten the sock filter to the line and make sure it stays there.
