Best Custom Chip Tuner --Currently--
Hey all,
I have been bolting stuff onto my car for years, but just recently decided its about time to get a chip to make sure everything is working the best it can, and to remove the annoying EGR codes...
I've done a bunch of reading here on the forum, only to find many of the tuners are retired, or there sites are no longer active. I'm wondering who people would say are the best custom chip tuners, that are still available to make a custom chip today.
My car:
Holly Stealth Ram (Therefore EGR Deleted) (Type with MAP sensor, no MAF)
Dual 58mm throttle body
AIR system completely removed
adjustable fuel pressure regulator
D.U.I Distributor
Crane Cams Ignition system with High performance coil
1.6 ratio Roller Rockers, hardened pushrods (Factory Cam)
SLP 1-3/4" Shorty headers with dual intermediate pipes
Cats deleted
flow master Y pipe
Magnaflow 3" Cat Back
EMP-23123 Stage 2 Hi volume water pump
Cooling Fan Switch - Operational Specifications: On @ 200* Off @ 185*.
Mr. Gasket High Performance Thermostat - 180 deg (190 readily available at advance autoparts if it would work better)
Factory dual electric fans
Under drive pully set
Factory Injectors 22lb?
Trans: (If it makes any difference)
Factory torque converter
5000 RPM shifts
Pro Built Automatics Shift Kit - including corvette servo and special valves, separator plate, and accumulators

Your mods are very mild. Brian from Tuned Performance would be able to fix you up nicely. I have used him and he is great.
It is a shame people have pretty much abandoned tuning these cars. But the newest 3rd gen is now 29 years old. Most people go right to LS swaps these days.
I also have a foxbody mustang and even had a hard time finding someone to tune it.

Re: Best Custom Chip Tuner --Currently--
Realistically none of that will benefit significantly from e-tuning. Other than lowering fan temps to match the thermostat. But Brian is your best bet.

Tuned performance, his tune helped my car run cooler and gave the car some more pep.

Sounds like Brian is the man! I'm not expecting any major changes. A little more pep would be nice if possible, and also just stopping the CEL from coming on every time I get on the highway as a result of my Stealth Ram with no EGR, would make me a happy camper!
Just out of curiosity, it looks like TPIS still advertises tuning, is this a service anyone knows if they still really do for our cars?

Getting the code 32 disabled is no problem as well as other changes.
just need your memcal to modify to flashes based eprom and for a new tune.
unfortunately I try to work tunes in throughout the day as well as email communication.
i quit giving out my phone number too flooded with troubleshooting other efi issues and programming questions but can respond to emails throughout the day when I can. Just do this as a hobby. Jim hall is a great guy. Lmk if I can help.
