Need help about buying an 82 Trans Am

Hi, all I need someone's quick help am sure some have seen my post where I asked about buying an 83 Trans Am because I couldn't find an 82 planning to make a Knight Rider Replica daily driver not completely show accurate the inside anyway. I came across an 82 t-top I hope someone can help me on if it is a fair price based on the shape, miles, and so on what should I offer hope someone can help. Miles 64,000 has little rust he said along with the following Cruise control not working but it's there still has factory computer and harness has the AC stuff minus the rubber lines everything works as it should except the trans(200c) which it needs I have included lots of pictures hope someone can help me

First of all, I’m a huge fan of the early 3rd gens. That being said, you’re going to spend a lot of $$$ getting this one fixed up. It looks fairly rough. From your description that it needs a new trans, you obviously can’t drive it to know what other issues it has. The AC is missing more than hoses, the compressor is gone. The driver seat needs foam and recovering. The fender vent is missing. Given that the owner has clearly let the car waste away, it may have sat for years. Fuel tank may need to be dropped, suspension is probably shot, brakes will need to be addressed. If it truly has 64,000 miles, it’s been neglected. Honestly, I’d pass on this. It does have some salvageable parts though.

See the blue tarp over the windshield? You know what that's telling you? I'll tell ya what it's telling me; It's telling me that lots of water has leaked in there and that the firewall & front floors are quite likely rotted. In order to make a proper determination of just how bad the damage/rot may be the carpet has gotta get lifted to have a good look underneath. Sadly, again, like car #2 in your previous thread, I see another "rode hard & put away wet" specimen that wasn't treated all that well.

I agree with Jenkins, unless we're talking a give away price ($1K or less) I'd pass on it....

I appreciate you guys writing and helping out I have a few more Trans Am that I am looking at but I don't want to keep posting a new thread on here it's just for years I have been trying to get one-two and it seems they have too much rust or other stuff that's why I ask for help on here.

Whats your budget for one in real clean shape with a complete drivetrain swap from 02 firebird from fans to fuel tank, including cruise and ac? Its black and gold with 15" gold turbocast wheels and correct hood. I have a new season 4 bumper and led scanner from Sid but not installed. For the right price I may sell as it just sits mostly lol.

You need to stop looking. Jk. It seems that when I’m NOT in the market for a car, I find the ones I want. And of course that happens right after I picked one up. Lol

Beautiful car man, first time I've ever seen someone keep ac with an ls swap.
