Couple of ?'s about engine sensors
Ok, some of you might know that I am doing an LG4 to LB9 conversion on my 86 Trans Am.
Here are my questions:
1. I have an Oil Pressure Fuel Pump switch on the back of my block. There isn't a connection on my harness for this.
Do I need to have it hooked up to get the Fuel Pump to turn on?
It is supposed to allow the Fuel Pump to run if there is oil pressure and the Fuel Pump Relay stops functioning.
Fuel pump doesn't turn on when hooked to the Relay, I have to jumper it myself to get it on.
2. My Injectors aren't getting any pulses when I try to crank the motor over. There is voltage at the injectors, but it doens't pulse when I crank it. Car will start when I spray starting fluid into the intake but dies as soon as the fluid burns up.
3. Can I wire up a light bulb to the ECM to simulate the SES light?
It is a '91 730 ECM. Would it be a 12v bulb?
Also, I changed the module in the distributor last night, but I might have hooked up the 2 little wires inside backwards. The haynes manual doesn't say which color goes where.
It was a green wire and a beige(light colored) wire.
Module had two terminals marked (P) and (N) I believe.
My car is so close to be running, just need to figure out these minor problems.
Thanks guys. You all are the best.
