No spark

1992 RS 3.1
5 speed

car cranks, won’t start. New coil. New ignition control module. Still won't start. Both pink wires at the coil have 12 volts and the coil wire going to distributor has 12 volts as well.

please help! Any ideas?

have you actually checked for spark at a plug wire or coil wire ? also ohm out the pickup coil in the distributor and inspect the reluctor magnet and the iron teeth on the reluctor-those are known to fall apart from rust and ozone attack in "small cap" GM distributors.

You were right z-chev, it ended up being the pickup coil in the distributor. It was really rusty inside there so I tore it down and cleaned off the rust and replaced the pickup coil.
now it will fire off but immediately dies. Fuel pump is running and fuel filter is new and I checked the plugs after starting it and they were wet so it seems to be getting gas. Any ideas what to check for?

Also, I recently purchased the car and it had been sitting. Someone cut off the catalytic converter. Would the low back pressure keep it from running?
