Oil gauge is dead.

I switched my gauge lights to led. When I replaced the gauge cluster the oil gauge went dead. I doubt it's the sending unit for the gauge by the pressure sending unit because it was fine before pulling the cluster out. What would be the best way to test if the gauge went bad?

Re: Oil gauge is dead.

Pull the cluster and use a multimeter to test the gauge. Google is your friend, plenty of places with write-ups on how to check a gauge with a multimeter.

Re: Oil gauge is dead.

Usually you can get the needle to wiggle or bounce and that tells you it’s good.

It’s probably just something simple like a loose connector. Good luck!

Re: Oil gauge is dead.

Thanks... Im going to check the wires from the sending unit to the gauge. Are both sending units by the oil filter?
