Well i recently purchased the open element pro-flo air cleaner ya know with the foam air filter, well my car started running horribly, stumbling at idle, bogging on take offs, i pop the hood and my carb has sucked down several pieces of the foam air filter!!! What do i do? tear apart the carb? Any help would be appreciated

Your engine probably didnt care about the foam, but your cat does. Is the cat glowing red after you drive? Whatever you figure out is wrong, contact the manufactuer and inform them of the costs you incured and ask what he is going to do about it.

 

it was on the '76 so it doesn't have a cat, do you think the foam is all inside the carb or is it stuck in the intake?

 

Also would it hurt to say if i'm damaged my carb? i need a new one of those anyways, it was already gettin a little worn hehe

 

Yeah those air cleaners suck, I have 2 of them and there both garbage, one backfire and it all melts down in the carb. They dont even clean all that well. Anyways how does it run? Its probbly worth your while to take it off and give it a good cleaning.
