1992 Pontiac Firebird 3.1 V6 engine won't start
Hello Guys,
I'm in Bulgaria
The repair shops here are not familiar with the old American cars because we don't have that many of them around.
I'll appreciate if you can help me to bring my Beauty: 1992 Pontiac Firebird 3.1 V6 back to life.
So far I had no chance to fix it.
The problem started with black smoke from the exhaust pipe (rich fuel mixture).
While I released the gas pedal the gasoline was started to detonating into the exhaust.
The RPM started increasing itself.
When I released the gas pedal completely, the engine goes off immediately.
Now the engine refuse to goes on at all.
So far I have replaced the following parts but still no success:- Engine Control Module (ECM Computer) with Prom Chip
- Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
- Idle Air Control (IAC)
- Temperature sensor
- Oxygen (O2) Sensor
- Spark Plugs and cables
- Ignition Coil
- Distributor (set)
- Map sensor Manifold Pressure (MAP)
- I have checked the injectors
- I have changed filters (air and fuel)
My last try was to clean the spark plugs and try to turn on the engine, again without success: barely started for few seconds, wets down the spark plugs with fuel and stops.
Thank you in advance for your help and time!

Vader's suggestion of checking the fuel pressure is spot on. Also, check for raw fuel in the vacuum line that connects to the fuel pressure regulator....

Thank you !
I checked the fuel pressure regulator,
the membrane is strong.
I took it off again to check the injectors and when I put them back on I will check the fuel pressure and post.
I'm sorry for the bad English, but I'm translating with google translator.
I will write soon!

I'm having no problem understanding your posts. At least you have a reason for possible translation errors. For some of us who supposedly use it as the native language, we have no excuse for bad English.

Hello,
I checked what you advised me and it turns out that
The problem was clogged injectors and bad spark plugs.
Now the car runs fine.
I have one more question.
My speedometer reads at a low speed.
I replaced the speed sensor.
Thank you for your time and attention!
