Car: 1991 Firebird

Engine: Classified

Transmission: 700R4

Axle/Gears: N/A

Transmission question???

Can a 700R4 from 1998 4th generation firebird be used in a 1991 3rd gen firebird?...can they be swapped, and would there need to be modifications done???

Well first of all a '98 Firebird would have a 4L60E, not a 700R4, so you would need to incorporate a computer to control the transmission.

Wasn't 98 the first year for the LS or is that a half year? Had a friend with a 96 LT1 camaro and pretty sure a 98 LS
