The Holley stealth ram has been discontinued. I was going to buy one in the coming months, but you snooze you lose I guess. I saw the kit i wanted was out of stock so after calling Holley for stocking availability I was informed that the Stealth Ram intake is being phased out. If you want one now is the time to buy. Some third party sites still have stock. The nice gentleman I spoke on the phone with informed me that there is a new intake coming out in a few months but that was all he could tell me.
Damn, that's one of the better intakes for SBC EFI and it didn't cost too much. If only it was about 1" shorter it would have been way more popular I think.
You can find a lot of these used.
The vortec cylinder head version can be bought from Speedmaster79. They sell just the manifold base.
Good news that Holley/Weiand is going to release a modern "Hi-Ram" series tunnel ram EFI for the SBC.
The Stealth Ram was based on the old Weiand SBC HI RAM tunnel Ram which had ports sized for early 60's 70's muscle car legacy era oem stock and stock like sbc heads of the day.
SBC heads have come a long way since the old camel back/ fuelie. 461/462/291 heads.
Thus the power potentual was a bit limited by the old tunnel ram port design and size. It had its limits..
The whole thingie for the gen 1 SBC engine platform needed updating big time.
Something to look forward to.
I hope they also release a version with a (bolt on) plenum top for carbs and or TB EFI (2x4)
A version with a (bolt on) blank top would allow hot rodders to play with various carb or efi configurations. 3x2 etc

Disheartening to see key components of my future plans fade from production every day and I don't have the space or budget to hoard them. Here's to hoping the MPFI options for SBCs get better somehow. Or maybe that's called "stop being a dummy and put an LS in."

Me too. I picked up one of these years ago thinking I might top off a stealthram with dual throttle bodies.
This is how it looked when I did a test fit on the old StealthRam I used to have.
I’ve gone another route and doubt I’ll ever do it, but still may see if I can snag just a base while you can still get them.

yeah, if I was starting from scratch, I'd just go LS at this point.
When I did my 383 a couple of years ago, I already had the Miniram and the EFI system and I didn't really feel like tearing it all out, so I just kept the Gen1 SBC setup. For the power levels I was after, the 383 is plenty.
There are lots of these around on the used market.
They are tall because the longer runner length creates the intended engine rpm range where big torque output is desired. (modest street friendly stuff) These were intended for an engine rpm range that is not exotic. Thus the long runners that are not very big (cross section area)
Limited casting thickness for porting limits high port flow potential to keep up with modern cylinder heads and BIG CID build trends. "stroker motor"
Other sbc tunnel ram bases can be modified for EFI injector bosses.
Some with BIG BIG runners for high rpm racing engine optimation can benefit from filling the runner passages some to reduce cross section to create street friendly port velocity.
The plenum top can also be filled to reduce plenum volume to suite your build. Once the top is bolted on, whats inside is your lil secret.

they should just discontinue everything non ls and we can all just stick a junkyard 5.3 in everything. how great that would be.
Noticed lately more of the SBC options seems to be going away, even some of the overseas copies. Fortunately I got a stash of most parts to finish my current projects. Started to plan ahead n buy stuff soon as the last election was over because I knew cost were going up and supply problems were only gonna get worse.
was just pricing a stealth ram set up out a few weeks ago. I've been wanting to switch to a holley terminator efi and multiport injection but am unsure what intake to go with for sbc. I'm not too into the throttle body injection sniper style kits.
All the sbc had for port injection was the stealth ram, pro flo, fitech, and upgraded TPI correct?
I still see stuff made new for the SBC all the time. Some people view it as a 30-year-old obsolete design. While from GMs perspective in a US built vehicle that is true. However, it is still probably more abundantly used in many more applications than the LS ever will be. One of my accounts when I managed an Oreilly store still got them from GM new as industrial engines. They had natural gas burning EFI on them and were used to pump natural gas.
That being said Holley is discontinuing all kinds of stuff. I think they see the writing on the wall as to what our current administration wants to do to ICEs.

Not even close! Literally dozens upon dozens of intakes out there if you look around. Case in point, I just bought a very nice clone of the Proflow intake for $368 shipped to my door with a fuel rail and hardware back in October. Very high quality casting. With a little cleanup the ports are very clean and an inexpensive Fitech 92 mm LS throttle body bolted on it.

A Lot of CO's are gonna find it harder to sell performance parts But overseas isn't gonna comply. Just like illegals won't stop using gas powered tools for lawn work. Only hurts law abiding people.
Oh and if that soft line came with it, I'd prob remake it out of something Ethanol content safe, just to be safe LOL safe safe safe
Think I found the intake Holley is gonna use, might make a short vid bout it, meh we'll see. Pics n voice over vids are a lot of work sometimes even if they are short.
