No power to injectors
No power to injectors
Hey I bought a 86 firebird 2.8 and the car doesn’t start because I’m not getting any power to the injector plugs. I’m getting like .7. I thought ecm was bad after several different tests. I ordered a new one and the issue stayed the same. I don’t know what the problem is. Any tips?

Re: No power to injectors
The injectors should have 12V on one lead at all times with the key On; the ECM grounds the other lead to fire them.
Not an ECM problem if the 12V is missing.
I'd suggest checking the INJ fuse(s).
It's not impossible that you have a shorted injector, which of course would blow fuses. If the fuse is blown I'd try replacing it, then unplugging all the injectors, and verify that there's 12V on one of the 2 wires at each one; then measure the resistance of the injectors. Should read around 15 - 16 ohms, and all should be the same within a couple of tenths of an ohm.

Re: No power to injectors
That sounds about right with the ground pulsing at .05xxx/sec
That is NOT how you check for voltage at the injector plug.
