What does the avg. shop charge for rebuild.

pick up your phone book and look in the yellow pages under automobiles parts machine shops and call. prices very a great deal from area to area. here it cost around a 100 dollars to get a short block assembled.

well don't know what it is if you incl. parts but to give you an idea I just paid $3 000 even Canadian from a shop to get my L98 FULLY rebuilt hot tanked block, polished crank, and a mild cam installed. they also did all the free mods to my engine, did a quick paint of the engine bay (looks great) and a warranty for 1 year.
heads are getting port/polish next year to get around 300hp then 100hp shot of nitrous.

so I guess that works out to about $1 700 US or so to get it done. that included EVERything, labour, etc. as well.
