How long will these mild steel pieces last/Worth it to get ss?

No one is answering on the exhaust board. That may be because there have only been a handfull of people on there most of the day (sad, but I would know). Maybe someone can answer my non-exhaust-specific durability question:

How long can I expect mild steel **cough** exhaust pipes and mufflers **cough** to last? What about the same pieces painted with VHT Flameproof 1500 deg F paint? They'll still rust from the inside out, though. I am in Texas--there is almost never salt on the roads.

I want to get some estimate for the life of these pieces because I may exchange them for stainless versions, depending on how long the mild steel will last.

Thanks

if there just plain steel i would say about 2 years or so, if there aluminumized pipes the'll last a good 5-7 years most everything is aluminized

I think he means fencepost... this would last at least 5 years... it's galvanized on both sides...

the paint will just flake off

If you start the car and make real short trips the exhaust won't last as long because they will be wet inside. If you always run it long enough to dry them out they will last longer.
