Crankshaft pulley

Just had a quick question for someone with a bit more knowledge then me. I have an 89 rs with the 5.0L, the crank pulley was bent like no other when I bought the car and I knew I had to replace it. I couldn't find the same pulley anywhere and the closest one I found was from a 1998 express so I bought it. It's the same diameter and everything but it's about .33 inches shorter so it doesn't stick out quite enough to spin the pulleys properly and the belt will slip off. My question is, can I make a spacer with some sheet metal to fix that gap or even some washers? And will it be safe?

Just look for the right balancer. You shouldn't have any issue finding a proper unit

It's not the balancer is the pulley itself, and unfortunately I've looked everywhere for the pulley and the only one that's correct is well over $300 which is ridiculous for a pulley lol
