Oil pressure switch
My 1991 Camaro Z28 (5.7) has a 3 pin oil pressure switch, I ordered a switch that turned out to be 4 pins. Can I remove or break off the 4th pin and use it, or do I need to get the correct 3 pin switch.
I only ask this, because I have a bit of a time constraint and the proper one may not get to me in time.

How are you going to figure out which pin to remove (assuming the pigtail still fits the 3 remaining pins) ?

Re: Oil pressure switch
I figure I would remove the one extra pin that keeps the switch from connecting to my connector. But I have no idea what would happen. That is why I am asking. Ultimately I have decided to return it and wait for the correct one. But if someone knows the answer to this question, then we can leave the post up for information purposes in the future.

Re: Oil pressure switch
It obvious that the 3 pin is the correct sensor for a 91, do you know why you got a 4 pin? Can't be the same PN as the correct 3 pin sensor....

Re: Oil pressure switch
Yes, I got a 4 pin because I didn't look carefully at the pictures and I was multi-tasking, so I googled the part for my car and took the first one from Amazon that looked the same without verifying things. Silly mistake which I paid for in time, but it didn't overall matter, because my time constraints changed.
