LT1 swap engine stalling and OBD issues
LT1 swap engine stalling and OBD issues
Hello,
After hooking everything up for our swap we started the car and found out that it will stall after a couple of minutes of running. However, while we were testing we found out that removing the gauge cluster would allow the engine to run fine without stalling. When looking at the car with the cluster on (from the same 95 firebird that the engine was with), a check engine light would be on. I hooked up my ALDL cable and the OBD system wouldn't connect (worked fine on the donor car before the swap) to the scan software I was using (SCAN9495). We checked the power and grounds to the OBD port which were fine and tested a separate PCM from a 95 Caprice which still had the same OBD and engine stall issue. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Re: LT1 swap engine stalling and OBD issues
Update: we tested all the connections from the OBD port and found the data serial wire wasn't connected to the pcm, so we jumped it and it still won't connect to the computer.
