Upshift Indicator LT1 Swap
I’m doing an LT1 swap I just want to know if I’m still going to keep that cool little feature of being told when to shift up by my 92 cluster even with the swap?

Re: Upshift Indicator LT1 Swap
I am pretty sure that it cannot be used, the only indicator for the LT1/T56 f-bodies was the skip shift indicator.
I thought it would be cool if it worked also.

You could get a aftermarket shift light and wire it to trigger the original indicator if you really wanted to.

Re: Upshift Indicator LT1 Swap
I've never had one, but does the stock light operate at normal RPMs, or only at Peak Power?
Most shift lights are there to prompt you to shift at Peak Power.
Other cars I've seen with upshift indicators usually do so where it is best for fuel economy, usually pretty low.
Right now my "shift" indicator is when I bang off the 7200rpm limiter in the GTA and say "Oh Shift!"

From the quick research I did just now, they are adjustable so you can program it to turn on at whatever rpm you’d like.

Re: Upshift Indicator LT1 Swap
I went with the "replace the cigarette lighter with a shift-light" modification, myself.
