HVAC Issue (NO AIR)
I recently purchased a 1991 Camaro RS 305TBI, 5 speed. It blew cold air through the vents only and the cruise didn't work. I then replaced all the vacuum lines and the cruise started working as well as the AC blowing through the proper vents. Until today. Now no air blows anywhere regardless of which setting the switch is set to. When I move the switch I hear clicking and the motor definitely changes RPM like the AC motor is kicking in but no air blows anywhere in the car. Not through the vents or the defrost (which I know is the default). What could be causing this issue? I know there are plenty of threads on only defrost and no vents working but I can't find a thread on no air coming out anywhere. If someone could answer this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Re: HVAC Issue (NO AIR)
Most likely the blower motor or the blower motor relay went bad.
If you look under your hood at the evaporator box, you'll see a relay bracket and relay sitting there.
I think it's the same relay as the radiator fan on the driver side firewall. The numbers should match, if so you can swap the relay and turn the key to the run position and see if your air blows again.
If not...then it's probably the blower motor itself. Easy fix if so. It's just a few screws, a single plug, and a vent tube that pulls out, and it comes right out of the box in engine bay. Most part stores will have it.
Good luck, hope this gets you in the right direction.

The Wolf is on it. I've also seen the plastic blower wheel come off the motor shaft. In any case, new blowers are still actually relatively inexpensive. If you pull it for inspection, it would be a good time to inspect and clean out the exposed side of the evaporator at the same time, and check the case drain for obstructions.

Re: HVAC Issue (NO AIR)
I appreciate it. You are correct on the relays being the same. I swapped them and still no luck so I am assuming that it is the blower motor itself. I will try and pick one up and replace that next. Out of curiosity, would the motor just quit working or do they typically slowly go out? Everything was working when I parked the car and then the following day I hopped in and none of the air worked. It was an abrupt not working and not a slowly getting worse. There is a clicking noise every time I move the lever to A/C so I assume that everything else in the system is working or is there something else I should check as well? I appreciate the information. Thank you

Re: HVAC Issue (NO AIR)
An update. The blower started working but sporadically quits every so often. If that happens, I can open the hood and tap on it gently and usually it starts running again. I'm fairly certain that this means the blower itself is going out so I am hoping to get it replaced soon and not have to worry about it any more.
