roller cam assembly lubing...
When I was at tech we just covered the entire flat tappet with assembly lube and put in the block.
I heard I should be using assembly lube on the lobes and 30w on the journals (?). Is that any different for a roller?
I should soak the lifters in oil and squish them so they prime, right?

comp recommends cleaning the lifter to remove grease
that is shipped with. and the soaking in 30w for 30mins.
This is not to soak oil in to the lifter but for the roller bearings in the bottom.

Right... oil on the lobes is fine.
Roller lifters don't "pump up" any differently than flat-tappet lifters do. You should always wash the cam and lifters thoroughly in clean solvent to get rid of the schmutz from the mfg process, and then soak the lifters in oil to make sure all their moving parts get lubed, and to get some oil into their little oil chambers so they don't clatter so much for so long at initial startup.
