1989 Firebird vin question

I have 21 in the VIN where the body style number goes and through all the research I've done the only body style number it could be is 87 and that's saying it's a sport coupe. Why is my number 21 and what is it?

Re: 1989 Firebird vin question

Your car is a coupe, not a convertible. The "87" is earlier models. Doesn't apply to your '91...

Re: 1989 Firebird vin question

If you're talking about the 21 in 1G2FS21, then the car is a Firebird (or a Formula, depending on other options). W87 is a Trans Am (or GTA).
