Fuel Pump Running with No Key

Hoping someone on here can help. Let the GTA sit for about 18 Months. Went to start it back up after plug change and oil and a new battery. Completely restored with new motor less than 2K miles on it. Once the new battery installed it immediately started the fuel pump priming and wont stop. No key, unplugged the relay and Oil Switch and it still runs when the battery is connected and it wont start. Any ideas of what is causing this? Never had any issues with the car since the New 383 Stroker put in with SLP TPI. Still running stock ECM with custom tune.

Try replacing the relay. Take a fan relay and put it in there and see if that fixes things

Sure you unplugged the correct fuelpump relay?

OK, so the relay finally came in. I replaced it and it's still running while the key is off. Also, for some reason now the fan is running as well? Any ideas? Car wont start but it is getting fire.

Re: Fuel Pump Running with No Key

Verify whether the FP relay is receiving power to its operating coil when the ignition is turned off - most likely the dark green/white wire. If there is power, check that the ignition switch is functioning, and actuating ALL the way in both directions. The sector and linkage rod in the steering column can get a little fidgety.

If that's not the issue there may be a problem at the C100 connector. Moving, flexing, crushing, twisting that connector and harnesses during an engine exchange can cause many problems there, as can moisture and corrosion.
