Returning to TPI

Does anyone have tips for returning to TPI on engine? I swapped to a carb and vortec heads 20 years ago. Now I am piecing together tpi parts to swap back.

Re: Returning to TPI

I have a SDPC base being ported as we speak. Planning to use AS&M runners, 30lbs injectors, 52mm TB, Comp Cams XFI 268 Cam (my block is non roller). Heads have roller tip rockers and high lift springs. Think I have the 2460 hooker headers if I remember right.

Re: Returning to TPI

When you break in the cam might run a light pressure spring. Seen so many stories about flat cams lately. COMP Cams DLC High Energy Hydraulic Lifters 812D-16 are worth the extra money. Or if it’s already broken in, sounds like good components if the injectors are a good name not cheap china ones.

Re: Returning to TPI

Appreciate the recommendation on the lifters. I will be buying a brand new XFI-268 cam. I have a XE-262 in it now with the carb. From my research, I think the LSA is too low on it for tpi tuning.
