Tech / General EngineIs your car making a strange sound or won't start? Thinking of adding power with a new combination? Need other technical information or engine specific advice? Don't see another board for your problem? Post it here!
Hi everyone, I'm wrapping up a 350 sbc engine swap on my 1984 firebird and I cam across a wire I'm unfamiliar with. I have been at this project for over a year now so where and how this wire goes is unknown to me. It would be great if someone could help me identify it and guide me to where it goes. In the pictures I've followed where it goes as far back as I could.
Thank you for your time.
It's not factory. It's a piece of effffffing EXTENSION CORD. How are we supposed to GUESS what somebody did to that car sometime somehow somewhere somewhy in the past? Can't any of us look back in history and probe some moron's mind to find out what they were "thinking". (I use the word VERY loosely here)
I notice that they used the red and black wires at the batt; probably to hook up something that needed hard battery. (or that they THOUGHT did, anyway) The red one is broken off and disconnected at that other spot.
I'll let you in on a little secret though. Call it, Sofakingdom's Rule Of Wire. It is, if ONE end isn't doing anything, the OTHER isn't either; and if the ends aren't doing anything, the MIDDLE isn't either; YANK! Get it outta there. Your car will be faster because it will have lost some dead weight.
