Diagnosing hesitation engine problem
Diagnosing hesitation engine problem
Hey all. My 2.8l has a very bad habit of whenever you accelerate, it hesitates and stutters badly. The rpm’s fluctuate a whole lot and the car kind of just shakes back and forth like it’s trying to die and then trying to accelerate. The problem usually lasts about 15 seconds or so or until you let off the throttle. I have seen a few threads here that say the ignition control module may be the issue, any ideas or thoughts? Anything I should test?

The ignition module certainly CAN cause that. Most auto parts stores can test it.

Other common issues would be coolant temp sensor or MAP sensor.
