Engine: L98 stock, Carbed 350
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.27
Ignition coil sparking while not running
I have an 84 running a non-computer controlled, vacuum advance distributor.
The coil is sparking while the car is off, with the key in run.
I did leave the key in run on accident for a couple of days, long enough the battery drained.
Is this likely a damaged ignition module?

It sounds like you should check power wire to the hei. If hot when key is off you could have damaged ignition components. The cause might be misadjusted or bad ignition switch on top of the column.

It doesn't do it with the key off.
Its doing it with the key in run, but the car is not running.
Unless that is normal, and I somehow never noticed it before.

The coil should never give out spark unless the engine is cranking or running. My first guess is icm since the pu coil isn’t being triggered.
