1984 Trans Am LG4 engine block vin location

Anyone know where the vin# location is on the 5.0L LG4 motor ? I looked at the front of the block on passenger side by the water pump and cant seem to locate it ??

Block has probably been decked then. That's where it always is. A little pad that's part of the block deck but protrudes beyond the pass side head. Right behind/under the alt in the 69-87 accessory setup. 84 TA 305 LG4 doesn't matter; all SBCs have it in the same place, until it gets shaved off.

I am 99% sure the motor has never been out of the car because it has all the original factory dated rad hoses, vacuum hoses and factory clamps and nothing looks disturbed. I will look again maybe I cant see it if its right behind the alt.

Found it and all good, matches the vin. I was looking for a pad on the face of the block pointing forward. Im sure the 70's Pontiac motors were on the face but its been a while. Thanks for the help
