zz430??????
zz430??????
ok im in the process of building a semi copy of the ZZ430,for my car and i want to use tbi...instead of the fast burn with the 210 cc intake runners ill be useing the regular votec heads with 170cc runners, ill be useing the hot cam,and prolly a sinlge plain intake,if not ill be useing a rpm air gap,i've got the 670 holley unit,im shooting for around 9.8 compression, according to dyno 2000 it pushes 390hp@5000 and 459ft lbs @3500.with traction and a alot of praying im hopeing to dip into the 12's!!....anyinfo as far as the PROM goes...like who can burn a prom for this or if you all think im crazy for trying this combo...but with some bigger injectors and the custom prom i dont see much trouble with this combo
SCOTT....
I just finished my motor a few months ago, and was faced with the same prom dilema that you are. I do intend to learn to burn my own proms, but I didn't really want to get into that right now. So, I had Dean at Street and Performance (in NLR, Arkansas) do a prom for me. I actually traded him my old Edelbrock 3860 intake for the chip, but his chips normally sell for $225 (a lot chepaer than an Ed Wright chip). I have been through several cars and proms in my time (Camaros, Vettes, ZR1s/ Hypertech, TPIS, MTI), and I can say that Dean has done the best chip that I have ever had (and TPIS was the worst). He works with you over a period of months, and sends you several chips (I've been through 7 chips) to make sure that you get the perfect chip. He doesn't just blindly sell you a chip and then forget you. However, you'll need access to a Tech 1 or laptop to get good data so he can dial in your chips. Plus, Dean has a good bit of experience with the vortec heads. You can call (or e-mail) him anytime about your car, and he loves to talk with you about getting it right.
Just my 2 cents (I should get a commission from Dean, I think I'm his best salesman)......
Later, Mike.........
