Guy at work is building a mild 350 as he calls it.

He said he'll be using the following, if someone could help me find about how much horsepower or what times he'd run that'd be great.


350 standard bore.
10:1 compression
Holley System Max alum. heads (2.02 , 1.94 valves I think)
Holley System Max cam, lifters and intake ( cam around .480 lift and 250 int. 270 ext. advertised I believe)
with probably a 700-800 cfm carb.

He's hoping to pull high 12s at about 110 in a el camino. Do you think it'd be possible?

I'd say anwhere between 12s-14s. Like you said you don't know a lot about it. Exhaust will play a major role, which I'm assuming will be headers, but you didn't state. What about gears, what tranny ( TC if applies). These could all greatly affect the outcome.

With the right exhaust, I'd say about 400 HP, 380 ft/tq

 

Sorry, missed the above. That just seems greater than I had planned. Though I guess it's quite possible. I believe he's getting the heads, cam, and intake for a little over 1000.


I believe he's running headers with full exhaust, turbo 350 with a 4.11 gear. Not sure about TC.

 

hooking up in an el camino will be kinda tuff. if you had on slicks I would guess about 12.6 or so. just my guess
