but in another post where someone had a problem starting their car, someone asked "what is your security light doing during this time?". made me wonder. i dont have a security system, but the light does come on sometimes. also, what would starting the car have to do with this?

 

It has to do with the VATS (vehicle anti theft system). 89 and up have VATS and a malfunction can cause a no-start condition.
