Siamese runners vs. Large tube runners....
Whats the differences? Is one more advantagous to have over another?
Just for general info, were looking at a tpi350, stock tpi intake stuff, hooker 1 5/8 headers, zz4 cam, 3inch cat back....
Obviously, the things is hurting bad in the intake department, but money is limited and thing are gonna have to get done one at a time. I think that the runners are the place to start, (port the plenum at the same time) but we also plan on upgrading the TB and porting or upgrading the base.
I have heard some bad about siamese runners, but would like to know what everyones experiances/ and feelings are on there.

The siamesed runners Make it breath more freely at upper rpm, the ones that look like the origonal runners just move the power peaks up, but the runners are only limited to your baseplate intake and the penum, I mean aftermarket runnes will give you a little bit more power on a stock engine but you really see a difference when you modify the rest of the intake. The stock tpi system is only good till like around 4500 rpm, then it chokes itself, if I was going to pick it would b the siamesed style, that should give you some more pull past 4500, the other style just makes more power up till 4500. The accel super ram is a good bet, but it's like 730.00 smackers fro year one.

Ok, i'll also make this clear its not my car, i am just trying to point him in the right direction.
Obviously, the superram would be the way to go. He doesn't have the money, to lay down 800 bucks for that.
What i am trying to have him do however, is get parts that will be usefull with the other upgraded components, even though right now, they might not work to there potential.
The biggest reason i ask, is that he mentioned that he heard some bad about the siamesed runners, but couldnt remember what.
I personally like the slp runners, but does anyone else have a suggestion on that as well?

Yeah dude the SLP's are the way to go but they are only truly siamesed for about half the way down the runner, then they split into two. Theres a guy who ported a set of SLP runners to where they are truly siamesed all the way through, (he also did it with the intake entrances and penum runner openings), He said that he wouldn't spin of the line as much as before but the mid range and top end were killer and it pulled hard all the way to 6000. But if you want a compromise in between and just give you more power than before all the way around the sLP's are the way to go
