connecting rods???
im planning on building a 420 hp motor and it has all the goodies 234 intake duration cam. 2.02 heads TH-350 heads and a 750 cfm carb.. my question to yall is this will be pushing about 420 hp and i was wondering if stock rods and crank could hold up.. its a four bolt block out of a 86 pickup. and does anyone know of places to get cheap rods such as i beam or refurbished shot peened rods if this wont work out...

just curious if your going with a 350 isn't a 750cfm carb a little overkill?
doesn't get a large carb like that kill low end power due to lack of velocity and since your motor is not going to get any where near the max flow rate of that carb unless you rev the **** out of it I would think it could kill your high end a little alos by not keeping the air moving as fast as it could

not really the 750 cfm aint overkill cuz im running a dual plane manifold with a 234 duration cam so its just about right could be a little too much but oh well its what you sacrafice for performance
