My car is hesitating at low speeds??...

Now my car has hesitation currently. Its usually in first gear, or when I'm just going slow. When I push the gas pedal further, theres no higher rev and no car responce, but then it will kick in, and give a me a little jolt. Sometimes if I give it some gas, while going slow, it will hesitate, then give me a couple jolts, then it would start moving. I'm guessing its not slippage cuz the engine doesn't seem to rev higher, theres no responce from engine or tranny. Then at spurts it will kick in. Tomorrow I'm going to check my tranny fluid, I have a tiny leak, I'll check if theres enough fluid. And I am also low on fuel, in the red zone, that might be a cause? Right now its night time, and its cold, so I don't want to check the fluid at this time, so tomorrow I will. I've currently been running my fuel down to E, cuz I like to use up all the gas, and I don't like to mix old and new gas. Plus I'm trying to get whatever crap is in my tank, get clogged in my fuel filter, so when I get a tune up, most of the crap that was in my tank, will now be in the filter, and be gone. But anyway why do think its hesitating? Any one else have this type of problem?

With a fuel pump that's in the tank, running the car on E all the time is not good on it. You're starving the pump causing it to heat up. This may be causing your problem which would be a dying fuel pump. I'd also say go ahead and replace the fuel filter, they're not expensive.

Man whats the deal with you people not answering questions lately? Mark is always the first one to respond, and seemingly if I didn't write BTT, he would be the last. Maybe Mark is 100% correct, but I like atleast one second opinion.... oh yeah BTW BTT.

Don't feel too bad, Chevy, I've got plenty of un-answered questions on here, probably bad timing or just the wrong title.
Try something like " What's my HP now?" or " Which heads with this cam?"
These titles will get you a good response.
Good luck. BTW,
btt

is there a specific time when it does this?? mine does this, but maybe not as bad, whenever it is cold outside until the engine warms up some. then it works fine, i changed the tranny fluid and it helped it a little.. also u might wanna check your TPS if this happens all the time, iv had simular problems with a bad TPS..

im also thinking that maybe this is tranny related, so if u dont get any more ideas or fixes, i would recomend posting this in the tranny board too..

Yeah it doesn't do it very often, than again I don't drive my car that much really. But its true after I was driving it for awhile it went away... but the next day it came back, probably due to it being cold. My tranny fluid seems good red/pink, not burned, its right at the top line at full hot, so thats good. However I do have a bad seal, but for some reason I haven't been leaking recently?? I'll of course keep checking to see if it happens all the time, btw whats a TPS?
---btw, after I was real low to empty, red zone, I poured in some STP Fuel Injector cleaner (part of my three step cleaning, one in full tank, another in full tank, and last in low tank). So I drove around the streets and highway, for a good maybe 20 miles, I was probably running purely on Fuel Injector cleaner. I went and fueled up at the Sunoco, and got some Ultra 94! Instead of usual Super 93. But the next 'cold' day I got the same hesitation... its almost like a sputtering hesitation, like power will come in spurts, and if I give it part throttle, I can feel it holding back, I could almost sense that if I floor it, it will hesitate then launch, I can feel it, haven't tried it however.

Mine does this too, later on in driving, I get an SES code....O2 lean. I think it has to do with the CTS since the O2 sensor was replaced, and the car runs like crap until it gets warm/SES code set whichever comes first. CTS woudl explain why it happens when it's cold...
