I have an 86 Chevy Camaro tpi 305. The car stalls and bogs out at high idle or low idle and when the car stalls it will not restart for a few minutes or longer it feels like it is running out of gas even though I have a full tank I get a code 42. The pump some times sound like it goes on then other times it don’t. Can a pump break then work again. Sometimes the relay makes a clicking sound.

 

I'm not sure about the code, but fuel pumps can start to die, where the work intermittently. At least I thought I've read that on here.
