Can someone help me with my grandfather's car??
My grandpa has an '88 mercury something or other it looks just like a lincoln i think it is a marquis. Anyway the car won't run unless you have the gas pedal depressed. I think it is the IAC, because there is oil in the intake and the IAC is oil soaked so. I want to know what could cause this oil? my grandpa doesn't have a lot of money so I want to fix it for him to save him some money. Or if no one here can help can you give me an idea as to where i can get some (help that is
). Thanks

I'd first look into why there's oil in the intake...probably the PCV system..maybe bad valve, or whatever they're using. Could be the engine is trying to run on the fuel mixture with a bunch of oil added to it...tough to do at an idle speed.
