Last night I was driving home, and as I pulled into the parking lot of my apartment my car just went wierd!

My car floored it, on it's own, and I had no control over the brakes, and very little control over the steering either. It's like my car just locked up.

Luckily I was able to get the car stopped without hitting something or someone. I shut off the car and took a look around. There was absolutely no resistance on my gas pedal at that time. I turned my car back on, and everything seemed to be normal again.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could of happened here?

 

What engine is in the car?

 

Check your throttle return spring, as far the steering that would be unrelated if it were the spring, but just something to check out. It's happened to me on the highway, a very scary feeling.

And Mark, Thanks for the idea! I'll definetely check it out. And you are definetely right, it's a scary feeling! When it happened to me I was in my Apt. building parking lot. I came VERY close to some very expensive cars!
