tensioner question..

ok I got my beast down to the exhaust shop and got my link between the xover , cutout, cat & muffler hooked up.. muchmuch better.. I can hear myself talk now.. the only prob is now that the exhaust is a little quiter I can hear the tensioner squeaking on idle.. I don't know why cuz I had it appart to paint the aluminum part and the bearings seemed ok in it.. they guy there tells me they are worth like $150Canadian for a new tensioner /pulley.. I don't know if I can just oil it or what? anyhow other than that she seems to go pretty good.. even did a small burn out up to second gear and let her rip.. I don't want to be too hard on it yet but the engine builder told me to drive it like I'm going to drive it..

both gates and goodyear have replacement pulleys that will bolt into place on your existing spring loaded tensioner assy. a\c delco also has a pulley probably a bit more cash than the first 2 options-yours probably has a guide raised on each side of the pulley for the belt tracking-the new replacement will most likely be smooth-its ok-even the delco (read:factory g.m.) are smooth with no guides if i get a chance i'll edit this and put part #'s later tonite. seeya, frank
