Carb. Problem ??
Carb. Problem ??
After changing out my Quadrahog carb. and installing an Edelbrock performer carb, as well as changing out the distributor with a non cc version, and also blocking off the EGR valve port in my intake. I have project TA running but am having a serious problem with it, the only way that it will run is with the choke almost completely closed and the RPM's running around 2000 - 2250 . The motor is in time and the carb has been properly adjusted, I have also replaced all vacuam lines and cannot find any type of vacuam leak anywhere. This motor is a 305 in an 85 T/A with an automatic tranny. As always I thank you in advance for any and all replies.
DriverDriverDriver,
The engine may be in correct time (valve and ignition), but the carburetor is certainly not adjusted properly. If you need full choke to run, there is obviously an idle circuit problem. Since I'm not sure what Edelbrock carb you have (either the Rochester clone or the Carter clone) I'm not sure what items you shold check. It's always a good idea to verify the float level adjustment.
