DEAD in the water, HELP!!!

Hey,
OK I've got a problem w/ my L03 305 out of my NEW (yea sucks bought it two weeks ago) 91' RS. Anyways, I have a problem I don't have a handle on yet.

I bought the car and at first it ran great. Had a little rough idle but that always subsided after it warmed up alittle bit. As I drove the car the first week the idle tended to get rougher and rougher. But again it would stop when it warmed up. Then it got to the point I couldn't start the car w/o putting the gas pedal to the floor. It would then idle rough, then subside and run fine when warmed up. SO, I did a tune-up. Put new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and PCV valve in. She then started better but still had the idle problem. I then drove it for a couple more days and it stayed about the same until this last sunday. (after a long trip too) I woke up and was going home and started the car. She ran like SH**!!! Acted like it was only firing on 4-5 cylinders and was blowing white smoke out the pipes (not water pure unburned fuel. You could smell the fuel smell STRONG in the car.) Anyways I started limping her home (had to throw it in neutral when i stopped and give it gas to keep it from dying.) But after about 20min of interstate driving the problem stopped and she ran fine until i shut her off again. Same problem that night when I came back here to purdue. After some interstate driving it would stop. Well now its here at school and WILL NOT START AT ALL!

What I've checked so far.

1) I pulled the ignition modual and had it checked, checked fine.

2) There is a wire thats been taped right by the injector connector w/ alittle bare wire showing so I thought maybe that injectors not firing. I looked and they are DRIBBLING when I am cranking it.

I haven't checked spark yet and limited on time so If you guys have any ideas where to look next i'd appreciate it.

Here's what i'm thinking.

1) Fuel Pump/Filter
2) EGR
3) IACV (idle air control valve)
4) Coolant Sensor
6) Bad Injectors (although unlikely both would go at the same time)

Any ideas???

I put the Rapid Fire AC Delco plugs in but they are gapped to 0.035. I read that they should be 0.045. Could this cause some of the problem?

missing gap wouldnt keep it from starting...might be the cause of the rough idle tho anyways i would check the fuel filter first and hope thats it because putting a fuel pump in a 3rd gen is a pain in the *** took me a full day of work to do it and alot of busted nuckles breaking old rusty bolts loose. if i had to do it again tho i think i could easily do it in 4 hours tops. anyways if its the fuel pump make sure you get a manaul like haynes. they arent the greatest books but give a decent overview on the procedure which will help you alot

yea i'm going to check the fuel pressure wed... meeting dad at indy he has a custom made gauge (fuel filter with a gauge mounted in it to get the ACTUAL pressure then we'll see whats wrong.) I've dropped the tank a few times in my 85 and its a b**ch. Especially since I have no Air tools up here (ie impact). I'm checking the PICKUP COIL which I think is a possibility. Its got a /real/ weak spark. well gotta jet to class... thanks for the input guys. i'll let ya know what i find out...

It was the PICKUP COIL. D*** those little things! I pulled the old one off and sure enough all the insulation is falling off and half of it was in the bottom of the distributer housing. Glad I got it fixed. Still may have a fuel delivery problem also but she's runnning again. Thanks guys.
