What are correct idle RPM's

Can anybody list the correct idle RPM settings for a '91 305 TPI A4 while:

1) In Park
2) In Drive
3) In Neutral

I'd like to know the targets for when the car is cold and when it is hot if possible.

After de-carboning the IAC motor and TB I am running at 1500, 1000, and 2000 respectively. These values seem to drop about 250RPM after the car gets hot.

I know these settings are high and would like to lower them, but not so much that the car stalls when coming to a stop while in drive, which was what was happening before the IAC cleaning.

I'm not postive, but I think when warm in D around 600rpms. In park around 800rpms.

OK, thanks guys. I'm going to go through the IAC reset and see if I can get this more on target.

Besides the temperature, what would make a car idle so high like 1000rpm or more??
BTW mine idles like 600 or so.

what could make you idle that high? well a lot of things, 1 your in open loop and it is warming and the iac is letting in air, 2 your iac is stuck open, 3 vacume leak, 4 you have your min air set too high
