tire hmmmm

hey guys,
I just got 2 tire put on the front of my car, they are 225/60/16, I know they are not the right size but I got them because I had to and they are real cheap, they are goodyears. any way there is a noise the tires make that sounds like a hmmm. they don't shake around or bounce, they just hum, what can cause this?

Different treads make different noices. It's that simple.

Alot of times you see tires reviewed by traction, wear, and tread noise.

They might wear in quieter.

BTW: my Impala makes that hmmm noise

Holy crap, which rims do you have?
I did not know that you could go smaller than 245 on those rims, very interesting.
Which type of goodyears do you have?

I've installed both michelin xw4's and bfgoodrich touring t/a's
in the past (for customers at work), in a 225/60/16. They seemed to fit fine with the stock rims for firebird/trans am, but actually sit alot taller than a 245/50/16 would. Probably a bad idea if your suspension might be sagging from age....

FYI - For not much more than the above mentioned tires, you can get a BFGoodrich Radial T/A in a 245/50/16... should be 90 dollars or less each.
