I need some one really smart to answer my problem
I have an 86 chevy camaro iroc-z TPI 305. When my battery drained I was jumping it and when i turned it over or at least tryed to it just kept turning over when the ignition was off. And when i got out to just take the jumper cabels off the car the connecters were red HOT. So can any one tell me what the problem and help me solve it.
i have to get to school tommorow morning so i will be up all night refreshing so please help .

It sounds like the solenoid is acting up. Sometimes they will sieze, cause alot of the internal contacts are made of copper.
I had a starter jam into my blown 383 (which I hate BTW), and my bat cables where glowing red ! I toke a crowbar, and wacked it, the damn thing broke of, and scorched my damn paint.
I don't think you have that problem, but if you lay on a starter long enough heat will build up.
I would replace solenoid, and you might consider a starter since you'll need pull it off anywho.
'missvthehood' you got good upper arm streagth ? It's not that bad

what is really happening is that there tension from the starter on the engine from trying to turn it over. since there isn't enough amperage to turn the engine paste the compression stroke and release the starter gear, the starter stays engaged and keeps drawing current get a good battery,or charge it good, and you should be fine. there is a chance that you toasted you starter, but if you didn't do it too many times or too long, you shouldn't have damaged anything.
