Can someone put this combo in DD2000 ?

I would very much like to know how much power this setup puts out and what the torque curve would look like.

408 cid SBC
23 Degree TFS heads

Crower Cam

Adv duration 311/316 Lift 507/524
Lobe sep. 112 Duration at .050 244/252

1 5/8 Hooker headers

Edelbrock RPM intake and carb

T5 tranny

If anymore info is needed please let me know. Thanx :hail:

Peak hp = 386 hp @ 5000 rpm at the flywheel

Peak torque = 435 pound feet @ 4000 rpm at the flywheel

Torque curve is very nice, over 400 pound feet from 2000 rpm on through 5000 rpm.

HP rises linearly from 155 @ 2000 rpm to 386 @ 5000 rpm (45 degree angle on the graph!) and then flattens out to 5500 before falling off rapidly.

This will make a fast 3rd gen, even with highway gears

You can't accurately use DD2000 unless you also have bore, stroke, head flow specs, valve sizes, compression ratio, induction flow, manifold type, and valve timing events for the camshaft. Sitting bull did what he could with what you gave, but it probably isn't all that accurate. The curves will look similar, but the peaks will not be correct.

386 HP sounds dissapointing. These heads made 419 on a 355 on some of CHP's test with a smaller cam. Hmmm... odd.

I used the flow numbers file for the 23 degree Trick Flow heads and used 2.02-1.6 valve sizes. I used a 9:5-1 compression ratio, dual plane intake and 700 cfm carb. I could only use the lift and Hot Street settings for the camshaft (I have dozens of cam files but none for Crower). Nevertheless, this should be within about 20 hp.

Desktop Dyno also says the Edelbrock RPM package which is supposed to make 420 horsepower on a 350... only makes a 364. So I dont know.. it seems iffy.

Well, at least we can say that your 408 is going to move your Camaro very rapidly. With that kind of torque and such a quick rising hp graph, you won't be at the end of very many lines

I was afraid the cam I picked was too big, even though it's listed in the Crower catalog as a 400cid camshaft. Well hopefully it'll be fun with a 5 speed behind it. And of course I will have to pray to the torque gods every day, so they wont unleash their powers on my poor T5 !:hail: :sillylol:

Hmm, a T5 might not last very long behind that thing. A Tremec sounds more suitable, but the price of admission is nasty.

Very much so. It lasted behind my 400 HP 350 for a while. I dont powershift and dump clutches so I think it'll be alright. (for a while anyway).
