Two leaks already on my new motor.....what caused them?

Well my new engine has only run about an hour so far and I haven't even driven the car anywhere and I have two leaks!!
The first one is the rear main seal. It's a one piece block and it's leaking pretty bad. After I installed it I heard that there's a special tool needed, but I don't see why?
The other leak is from one of my head gaskets. It's leaking on the very rear of the passenger side. Besides a warped block or head which should not be the case....what else could have caused this?
Looks like I know what I'll be doing on spring break in two weeks. By the way is there any way of changing the rear main seal without taking the transmission all the way back out??

New motor? Could've fooled me.

The one piece rear main seal is a biotch. There are a number of fixes, all to complicated to explain here. Read and search! Why would you install a motor that has the possibliity of being warped, in either case? And what is leaking: coolant, oil or air?

They're both "biotches" to change while the engine's in the car and tranny still connected !!
